Not many pictures for today.

Today we were travelling from Prague to Dresden.

On our first trip to Prague with Phillip’s sister Elaine and brother-in-law Greg, in 2009, we had been told “there will be a bus” because of track works. Well several buses and trains of advancing age later and not a word of English later, we finally arrived. For this trip we were also told “there will be a bus” so we wondered what we were in for.

However we were pleasantly surprised to find announcements in English on board the train, and helpful people on the platform and outside the station directing us to the waiting modern buses which left promptly and not crowded in like sardines, for a pleasant trip through the countryside to Dresden. The only stop was at a border inspection point where everyone had their id checked. Alison was questioned about when she arrived in the EU and when she was leaving but all was ok and the figured that Phillip was the same so his passport was handed back with an OK.

Taxi to our apartment which is in the old part of town close to a few notable sights, with a huge shopping mall opposite and lots of restaurants nearby. A great little place with a garden courtyard (complete with a duck) and quiet overnight.

We had a nice simple meal of very welcome smaller proportions for a change.
