No photo but today, for the first time in all our years of travelling I had a brush with a pick pocket! Nothing taken and not traumatic- I sensed someone behind me and thought they were trying to get past me on the footpath and glanced back to see a woman in a white dress. Went a little further and looked again and she was no longer there. A bit further on I thought to take off my backpack and the top zip was undone. I’m not silly enough to have anything valuable in it but it would have been annoying if she had taken something. So from now on I’ll be turning it around so there are no zips on the outside.

It was a bit cooler today so longer sleeves were called for. Weather forecast mentioned rain and it did! Fairly light at first but more substantial later on. Got out the umbrellas and the all encompassing ponchos which kept us dry.

Despite the rain we explored the old town, finding lots of interesting things. Spent a lot of steps trying unsuccessfully to find out where to catch public transport up the hill to the castle so had a a hot drink and went back to the hotel for a rest.

Got the hotel to order us a taxi to the castle so looked around there, disappointed that the weather wasn’t so clear but looked at the view anyway. Went past a group of people singing I can’t help falling in love with you - no idea why (but lovely voices) so, having recently done our ukulele gig on Elvis, Alison joined in, much to their amusement.

Toddled down the hill back to the old town for some more looking around and found a festival - it was the end of a 500km race by classic and vintage cars - heaps of them. And they had a childrens pedal car race too.

Back for another rest before finding more Slovakian food for dinner and an after dinner stroll.

Over 15000 steps today - Have I said how much I hate cobblestones?
