Goodbye Dresden. Hello England.

Back to England. Not much to tell about the trip but we liked the airport - and we’ve never seen a big airport so deserted- you could have fired a canon and avoided hitting anyone.

It had some interesting features - sculptures, a children’s play area, interesting things on sale by dispenser in the ladies loo and the up and down buttons on the elevator were very clever.

On arrival at Heathrow we found the longest travellator we’ve ever seen (we were about half way when I took the photo.

Stayed overnight near Heathrow then picked up a hire car and drove up to Shropshire to visit Julie, a friend of long standing (think kindergarten) and her husband Richard. It was a bit chilly and rainy but that didn’t matter a bit as we enjoyed seeing them and their new house - very light and airy and despite being in a town felt like we were in a forest. Lots of reminiscing and laughter (and a delicious dinner). It was so great to catch up in person again.

Drove back to Addlestone the next day to spend more time with Kieran.
