22 July
We learned at breakfast the there was an agricultural show on that day! So off we went back to another time. At last we got up close to the sheep and cows that had been running away from us on the roads.
Enjoyed the pipe band and the Scottish dancers. There were also clowns and a card trickster.
Has Afternoon tea with 2 baked goods for 4 pounds and admired the entries in the food and crafts exhibition.
The show was opened by a local celebrity baker (who we had never heard of) - the Hebridean Baker, Coinneach Macleod. Apparently he's famous and known internationally, and was selling his cookbooks- Marg has a personally signed one.
There was a daredevil stunt man (who was not very good) and a chainsaw artist- who was good!
Saw 4 dacchies at the show - we're looking forward to seeing ours when we get home and hoping Ralph the cat got over his gastro ok.
Phillip went back to the hotel via the direct road for some time out and Marg, Sue, Malcolm and I went back via the west coast road and had a lovely lunch (jacket potato) on the way back at a hotel by a loch.
Tomorrow we are back to Glasgow to be with Kieran again for a couple of days before returning to Oz.
