My step count average is higher - what a surprise

My phone is very clever. It’s telling me that me step count is higher than normal. As if my legs don’t know that already!

This morning we went the other way up our street to see the shops and what else was there. Nice looking church and we discovered the roadworks are a new underground train line. No wonder there’s such a big hole. It’s 8 pm and they are taking another load of dirt out (and making a racket). They’ll stop soon.

After dropping off our shopping we hopped on the tram and went off past many grand buildings, including Parliament House, to find the Great Hall of the National Library. It’s a magnificent place and you can imagine centuries of scholars researching under its decorative ceilings.

One of the souvenir shops sells anything from a sculpture of the last supper to a rifle on the back wall.

Next stop was the Schmetterlinghaus - the imperial butterfly house.

A stop for lunch and then on to St Stephen’s church. Too many people everywhere to get a decent shot.

Exhaustion had set in so it was back on the trams to a nearby bar for beer o’clock.

After a snooze we went back to last nights restaurant for another schnitzel for Phillip and Alison’s attempt at finding a smaller meal was futile. We met a lovely American couple and enjoyed lively conversation with them

Also learned that Ed Sheeran has eaten at the same place and that pot is legal here.

On to Bratislava tomorrow
