Malcolm picked us up in the hire car and we set off into the Golden Circle.
First stop was Pingvellir (Thingvellir), to see the site thought to be the birthplace of Iceland democracy, and the place where you can see the rift between the North American and Eurasian Tectonic Plates. People everywhere, but despite this still an amazing place!
Next stop was at Geysir to see the geyser blow. Again people everywhere! The visitor centre's restaurant was teeming with them.
Then on to Gullfoss Waterfall (Foss means waterfall) - so much water! And such a great sight to see.
We lunched at a wine bar at a tomato farm
I was hoping for a swim at the Secret Lagoon but Phillip and Malcolm weren't interested so we drove on to our accommodation- a secluded farmhouse with a fabulous view and a surprise outdoor tub, so I got to soak my weary legs with a superb view.
For those keeping track, yes my knee is still quite sore but with a combination of brace, creams and drugs I'm managing to get around to see the main bits of everything. Managed over 9000 steps yesterday. Malcolm and Phillip are being very kind and helpful.
