Travel day

Didn’t think I’d have much to say today as it was a travel day from Takayama via Nagoya on a limited express day then a Shinkansen bullet to Hiroshima. Our big bags will catch up with us in a couple of days when we go to Kyoto

It was a short walk from the station to the Sheraton hotel. Had a rest and caught the end of sunset from our window

Then time for dinner. Malcolm discovered a group of hawker kitchens on the 6th floor of a building on the other side of the station and we all (even Phillip) enjoyed an okonomiyake pancake at one of the little restaurants

(Wish I could work out how to make the pictures come out in the right order rather than reverse)

On the way back to the hotel dropped into a Pachinko parlour to see what the machines look like. (read the book of the same name recently). No idea how it’s played but some people had lots of balls in baskets.
